This is Cloudio.

We use Microsoft Azure for our cloud storage. In fact, most people in our office use it daily to backup and retrieve files. But the desktop experience was not very good, to say the least. So we decided to build our own desktop client for Azure: Cloudio. Now you can have it as well.

So what are the advantages of Cloudio versus the competition?

Cloudio is user-friendly.

It has a simple interface you will instantly feel familiar with and integrates seamlessly with your Windows desktop. It sports a cost center that allows you to track all costs associated with your usage of Azure.

CLOUDIO for Windows, version 1.25

CLOUDIO is a feature-rich desktop solution for Azure file management.

Designed for Windows 7 and 10.

Designed for Azure

Cloudio was developed for one goal: to work really well with Azure. We are closely following all Azure developments and strive to always use the latest and greatest options Azure has to offer.

Hot, Cool, and Archive storage

Cloudio can work with all types of Azure accounts and is able to migrate data between them very easily from within the application. If you don’t need a file or group of files for a longer period, change the access tier to Archive with a simple mouse click.

Security

Your Azure account information is stored encrypted in Cloudio for safety reasons.

Services and Support

The team behind Cloudio has a lot of experience in all things Azure. If you need help with complex data migration projects, we are aways willing to help. Mail us at contact at cloudio.software

Help & Support

Any support questions or bug reports can be submitted to support at cloudio.software. However, make sure to read the FAQ (frequently asked questions) section first.

Once Blobs have been named on Azure, its impossible to rename them. They are assigned a unique url and this can not be changed. If you created a Blob with an incorrect name, create a new one with the correct name and move your files to them. Then, delete the incorrectly named Blob.

Right-click a blob or group of Blobs and choose properties. Wait for the calculation to complete, and you know exactly how much storage is in use.

Copying in the cloud can be slow because the bandwidth is limited to about 100 mbps. If you have a fast network, you may be better off to not copy in the cloud. Go to Preferences – Transfers and change the Azure to Azure preference from ‘in the cloud’ to ‘local temporary storage’.

Go to Preferences – Azure and set your Azure browsing timeout. This will cancel loading after a set number of seconds.

This depends on your preference. Go to Preferences – Azure and select if you want to delete files permanently or have them moved to the recycle bin. This is a special Blob where Cloudio stores deleted files until you are sure you want them removed.

If you work with large and complex batch transfers, its easy to make a mistake. Fortunately Cloudio allows you to edit the batch list. But it sometimes takes a while for your action to be visible in the batch list. This is because Azure needs time to reallocate the storage you intended to use for the batch.
